Spank Me

Built in 1989 by Alan Bond, Spank Me was originally named “Drumbeat” and won the 1990 Sydney to Hobart Race before relocating overseas to compete for the next decade as “Congere” and then “Spank Me BT”. She returned home to Australia in 2004 and now takes 26 guests on 3 day/3 night adventures exploring the World Heritage Listed Whitsunday Islands, visiting Whitehaven Beach and snorkeling or diving the Great Barrier Reef. For those who want to get involved in the sailing, our experienced crew will need the help of enthusiastic passengers to get on the grinder and pull up the main sail, otherwise you can relax on the spacious deck and enjoy the view.

Eureka II

Experience invigorating high performance sailing on a state of the art 18.2m Sydney 60. Having competed in several Sydney to Hobart's as well as many other events, Eureka II holds an enviable sailing record. Eureka has a modern fit out with all the comforts of a cruising yacht such as spacious interiors, share or private cabins, leather upholstery, CD player, TV/Video, hot water and large open plan living. Eureka II is a complete sailing yacht for only 16 passengers.

British Defender
British Defender is a high tech Whitbread Around The World Racing Maxi that was raced by the British Armed Services during the 1989/90 Around the World Race. It is an 83ft Maxi Yacht with a Sloop design. Built of Carbon Fibre, features include a huge 115ft mast, race grinding winch towers and over 6ft of headroom below deck. Since this maxi was converted into a Whitsunday Charter Maxi yacht in 2001, she runs a 3-day/2night trip departing Thursdays and Mondays. Taking up to 26 guests, this trip is suited to people who want a Maxi-racing adventure cruise!

Condor

Condor is perhaps the most famous Maxi yacht in history, having won every major ocean race in the world twice! Condor is the only yacht to have achieved this distinction. Condor is 81ft in length, was designed by Ron Holland and built in Penryn, Cornwall in the United Kingdom. Departing Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, Condor takes up to 29 passengers on an awesome 2-day/2-night adventure.

Matador

Matador is 85ft in length and is the largest IOR Maxi ever built. Matador was designed, developed and constructed at a cost of over US$20 million in 1991. The yacht is constructed from carbon fibre, titanium and aluminium. Matador competed in 52 races, 8 regattas and 2 maxi world champions and was undefeated! Carrying up to 33 passengers this truly awesome sailing machine departs for a 2-day/2-night adventure every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Broomstick

Broomstick was built in South Africa to win the Cape Town to Rio Yacht Race. From there she went on to compete in many of the world’s most famous blue water events including the Sydney to Hobart. As a true Maxi, she is big, comfortable and very fast. She finished racing in 2000 and was converted to charter in 2001 – but beware!! Her racing spirit still remains!! This 2-day/2-night Maxi adventure is surveyed to take its guests the Whitsunday islands. Taking up to 26 passengers, Broomstick will speed her passengers from one great destination to the next.

Hammer

Hammer is a 75ft Maxi yacht that is indeed a true Australian yachting legend. Hammer was designed by Kel Steinman and owned and campaigned by Arthur Bloore. Throughout her racing career Hammer competed in many blue water events and was best known for her five consecutive placings in the world famous Sydney to Hobart, including line honours in the 50th Anniversary of the event. Hammer’s paint job certainly makes her the “wild child” of the Maxi fleet. Departing on evey even day of the month and taking up to 22 passengers, Hammer will take you for a 2-day/1-night Maxi adventure.

Apollo Maxi

Apollo is an 81ft Maxi yacht and has competed in all the Ocean classics in Australia, winning most of them, including the Sydney to Hobart. Apollo offers guests a 3-day/2-night Maxi adventure, carrying up to 23 passengers. Departing every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, Apollo is perfect for 18-35’s who are after the thrill of Maxi action but are on a tight schedule.

Apollo III

Old racing yachts never die, they simply sail off into a tropical sunset. Just such a fate was awaiting Alan Bond's former America's Cup training vessel, "Apollo III", when she finished her racing career. "Apollo III" is a 55ft ocean racing that has campaigned in most of the major yacht races around the world . Catering for a maximum of only 12 guests her flat decks and full headroom throughout offers comfort with the excitement of fast sailing. You too can become part of the crew of this performance racing yacht. Set the sails, grind the winches or take a turn at the helm.

Boomerang

Raced under the name ‘Ondine VII’ and achieved great success including 1st place in the World Maxi Series Race, plus races in the USA, Japan and New Zealand. Boomerang, designed by Frers and built in Italy is a sloop design, 83ft in length and 20ft wide. In November 2001, Boomerang had a new interior fitted specifically for Whitsunday Sailing Tours. One of the many features includes headroom higher than 6ft. This maxi yacht departs Wednesdays and Sundays for a 2-day/2-night sail and carries up to 28 passengers.

Siska

Siska is an 80ft Ocean Maxi that has won races all over the world including Australia, England, Fiji, Hawaii, Hong Kong, New Zealand and South Africa! With this great history of speed and power, Siska will power its guests around the Whitsundays on a Maxi adventure, sometimes racing other boats between destinations. This big red boat takes up to 20 guests on a2-day/1-night awesome adventure. This trip is great for those wishing to experience the thrill of Maxi sailing.

Ragamuffin has been well serviced and maintained to an immaculate condition. The interior is beautifully appointed with rich timbers and is complete with 2 double births and 9 single bunks.

Silent Night

Silent Night is performance sailing in comfort. With wide, flat decks above, and comfortable accommodation below, she carries a maximum of 12 passengers within a friendly intimate environment. Formally known as Madame De Farge, Silent Night has a colourful history within the racing circuit, winning the Hogs Breath series in 2005 and continuing to participate in local events.

Southern Cross

Mandrake

Take an exciting ride aboard the 50ft ocean racer Mandrake. Originally used as a sparing partner for Alan Bond's America's Cup winner Australia II, Mandrake has been sailed by some of Australia's most talented and well-known yachtsmen in some of Australia's most famous regattas. Originally built for ocean racing, Mandrake was a fierce competitor, in the mid to late 80's, in races such as the legendary Sydney to Hobart. An extensive refit has transformed Mandrake into an extremely comfortable charter yacht, catering for 15 guests over 2 days and 2 nights.
