Cruise Cat 30
A power cat offers many advantages over other vessels including having much more room than monohull boats, better stability, performance, visibility and cruising economy with none of the work involved in working a sailing vessel and being at the mercy of the winds. Because of the shallow draft you will also be able to explore more of the Whitsundays via a power cat.
Coral Star will cruise at 10 knots (18 kph) which means that you don't need a boat licence to skipper them and navigating around the Whitsundays is easy even for first time skippers. Each boat is set up like a self contained unit (but with different million dollar views every day) with all of your linen supplied including bath towels and beach towels, crockery and cutlery, pots and pans etc.
We also supply complementary extras for your comfort and conveniencetea, coffee, sugar, soaps, shampoo and conditioner and quality fishing rods and reels. Each boat also has a Seveylor Kayak aboard, masks, snorkels, beach chairs, beach umbrella, DVD player, CD player and floating lounges.
Before starting your cruising holiday you must undertake a detailed briefing to ensure that you enjoy a hassle free holiday. The time taken for the briefing will depend on your level of experience but they usually take between two to four hours and includes:
- The operation of the boat,
- cruising guide,
- safety at sea,
- rules of the road at sea,
- basic navigation,
- operating the VHF radio,
- anchoring and mooring,
The briefing will include both theory and practical work.
We won’t leave you until you have all the skills and confidence necessary.
We will be in contact with you twice each day via VHF to update you with weather conditions and to offer advice on overnight anchorages.
