Charters are a skipper-yourself type charter. Some level of
boat handling ability is helpful but most of the better Bareboat
charter companies offer a very comprehensive "briefing" on the
first day to familiarise you with the vessel and the area.
Bareboat Charters are one of the great ways to experience the
Whitsundays with friends or family. No experience necessary.
Whether you are after a secluded romantic getaway or a more
adventure packaged holiday, a bareboat charter accommodates
for all types. You can explore beaches, Island Resorts, fringing
reef and National Parks at your leisure. For those with experience,
maybe take a performance yacht to get the heart pumping. Great
trade winds for most of the year will give you some great
sailing opportunities, or take it slow and enjoy the scenery.
Charterers
with less experience have the option of taking a skipper onboard
for one or more days. Giving you the chance to learn the ropes
before taking the helm and heading off into the blue yonder.
Or maybe a motor cruiser would be more your style, no ropes
& sails to worry about.
There
is such a large choice of vessels available depending on the
size of the group and experience you are after. The small
sailing yachts, motor cruisers and catamarans take between
2 - 6 passengers onboard. The larger yachts and catamarans
can take up to 10 passengers.
