Solway Lass
Built in Holland 1902, Solway Lass is rich in history and has
lived through both World Wars, been used for coal carting and
carried cargo until she was restored in 1984. It was then used
as a floating Restaurant in Sydney Harbour, until it was sailed
to the Whitsundays in the early 1990’s.
In early 1999 Solway Lass was remodelled for overnight 3 day
and 3 night sailing holidays in the Whitsundays. Solway Lass
is fully air-conditioned and has 11 cabins for 32 guests. These
cabins are private double/twin and share and feature teak and
cedar feature walls along with Jarrah timber trims.
Departs Tuesdays and Saturdays evenings.
Solway Lass provides guests with the opportunity to experience
sailing as it was 100 years ago with the 10 sails and 5500 square
feet of sail area.
Guests are welcome to assist the crew hoist the sails and sail
the ship, or otherwise just relax on the huge decks and take
in the views the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park provides.
