Spank
Me
Built in 1989 by Alan Bond, Spank Me was originally named
“Drumbeat” and won the 1990 Sydney to Hobart
Race before relocating overseas to compete for the next
decade as “Congere” and then “Spank
Me BT”. She returned home to Australia in 2004 and
now takes 26 guests on 3 day/3 night adventures exploring
the World Heritage Listed Whitsunday Islands, visiting
Whitehaven Beach and snorkeling or diving the Great Barrier
Reef. Each passenger receives a free 20 minute dive and
for those who want to get involved in the sailing, our
experienced crew will need the help of enthusiastic passengers
to get on the grinder and pull up the main sail, otherwise
you can relax on the spacious deck and enjoy the view.

Train
Experience 3 super fast days and 2 thrilling nights on
OzSail’s 60ft Pocket Maxi Freight Train. Although
this former Sydney-Hobart winner (1983 maxi division)
is now retired from ocean racing, you can still go for
the ride of your life as you take control, ride the rails
and trim the sails as you sail from one unbelievably gorgeous
destination to another throughout the World Heritage Listed

Defender
British Defender is a high tech Whitbread Around The World
Racing Maxi that was raced by the British Armed Services
during the 1989/90 Around the World Race. It is an 83ft
Maxi Yacht with a Sloop design. Built of Carbon Fibre,
features include a huge 115ft mast, race grinding winch
towers and over 6ft of headroom below deck. Since this
maxi was converted into a Whitsunday Charter Maxi yacht
in 2001, she runs a 3-day/2night trip departing Thursdays
and Mondays. Taking up to 26 guests, this trip is suited
to people who want a Maxi-racing adventure cruise! Price:

Condor
Condor is perhaps the most famous Maxi yacht in history,
having won every major ocean race in the world twice!
Condor is the only yacht to have achieved this distinction.
Condor is 81ft in length, was designed by Ron Holland
and built in Penryn, Cornwall in the United Kingdom. Departing
Tuesdays and Saturdays, Condor takes up to 26 passengers

Matador is 85ft in length and is the largest IOR Maxi
ever built. Matador was designed, developed and constructed
at a cost of over US$20 million in 1991. The yacht is
constructed from carbon fibre, titanium and aluminium.
Matador competed in 52 races, 8 regattas and 2 maxi world
champions and was undefeated! Carrying up to 20 passengers
this truly awesome sailing machine departs for a 3-day/2-night

Broomstick
Broomstick was built in South Africa to win the Cape Town
to Rio Yacht Race. From there she went on to compete in
many of the world’s most famous blue water events including
the Sydney to Hobart. As a true Maxi, she is big, comfortable
and very fast. She finished racing in 2000 and was converted
to charter in 2001 – but beware!! Her racing spirit still
remains!! This 3-day/2-night Maxi adventure is surveyed
to take its guests to the Outer Great Barrier Reef (weather
permitting) as well as the Whitsunday islands. Taking
up to 19 passengers, Broomstick will speed her passengers

Hammer
Hammer is a 75ft Maxi yacht that is indeed a true Australian
yachting legend. Hammer was designed by Kel Steinman and
owned and campaigned by Arthur Bloore. Throughout her
racing career Hammer competed in many blue water events
and was best known for her five consecutive placings in
the world famous Sydney to Hobart, including line honours
in the 50th Anniversary of the event. Hammer’s paint job
certainly makes her the “wild child” of the Maxi fleet.
Departing on Mondays and Fridays and taking up to 19 passengers,
Hammer will take you for a 3-day/2-night Maxi adventure.

Apollo
Apollo is an 81ft Maxi yacht and has competed in all the
Ocean classics in Australia, winning most of them, including
the Sydney to Hobart. Part of the ‘Next Sail’ fleet, Apollo
offers guests a 2-day/2-night Maxi adventure, carrying
up to 23 passengers. Departing every Tuesday, Thursday
and Sunday, Apollo is perfect for 18-35’s who are after
the thrill of Maxi action but are on a tight schedule.

Boomerang
Raced under the name ‘Ondine VII’ and achieved great success
including 1st place in the World Maxi Series Race, plus
races in the USA, Japan and New Zealand. Boomerang, designed
by Frers and built in Italy is a sloop design, 83ft in
length and 20ft wide. In November 2001, Boomerang had
a new interior fitted specifically for Whitsunday Sailing
Tours. One of the many features includes headroom higher
than 6ft. This maxi yacht departs Wednesdays and Sundays
for a 3-day/2-night sail and carries up to 28 passengers.

Siska is an 80ft Ocean Maxi that has won races all over
the world including Australia, England, Fiji, Hawaii,
Hong Kong, New Zealand and South Africa! With this great
history of speed and power, Siska will power its guests
around the Whitsundays on a Maxi adventure, sometimes
racing other boats between destinations. This big red
boat takes up to 20 guests on a 3-day/2-night awesome
