Solway Lass has a rich and varied history since being built in 1902 in Holland. After surviving both World Wars, she was used as a coal carting ship until she was fully restored in 1984 as a floating restaurant. Her move to the Whitsundays happened in the 90s before she finally settled on her current career as a touring sail yacht in 1999. Her modern interior includes 11 airconditioned cabins to fit 30 guests, complete with teak and cedar features and jarrah trims.
Her history allows you to experience sailing as it was last century with 11 sails and 5500 square feet of comfort. Feel the breeze in your hair and relax on the deck or assist the crew to steer this beautiful ship around the amazing Whitsunday Islands. You will visit the iconic Whitehaven Beach, colourful coral gardens, and other amazing locations in the stunning Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Certainly an adventure not to be missed!
The Solway Lass Whitsundays overnight sailing cruise is suitable for children from the age of 3 years old.
Note: Departures over the Christmas & New Year period will incur a fee of an additional $40 per person, payable upon check-in.

Your friendly crew will serve up a delicious breakfast before setting sail to Tongue Bay of Whitsunday Island. Enjoy a guided bushwalk to the Hill Inlet Lookout and take many pictures of the beautiful view before reboarding the ship for a relaxed lunch. Sail around to the stunningly iconic Whitehaven Beach. Enjoy an hour sinking your toes into the silica soft sand and spotting baby stingrays in the waves before setting sail along the eastern side of Hook Island. Your second overnight anchorage will be in one of the many sheltered bays that surround this beautiful location.
After breakfast snorkel one of the many fringing coral reefs and get personal with the vibrant marine life. Your ship is also equipped with a glass bottom boat for another perspective on the swarming coral gardens.
